The nominations and past performances for the Stormy Blues Stakes race are up on the Pimlico website.  There are 22 horses nominated.  This race gives preference to horses with the highest earnings on the turf in 2013 and 2014, and we are fifth in turf earnings, so we should be in!  

The entries will be posted Wednesday with the official info, but we can consider Sassy to be in the race unless something unforeseen happens.  God willing and the creek don’t rise…and the rain don’t fall!!  We’ll all be hoping for clear skies so the race doesn’t come off the turf.

There are a bunch of tough horses on the nomination list, but most of them have achieved on dirt.  A few have strong grass performances, or strong turf pedigrees, so there should be some stiff competition.  Many of the horses have also already run a race this year or have been running all winter, so they’ll have an advantage over Sassy, who will be running for the first time this year.  

Come out to Pimlico this coming Saturday to help cheer her on against this tough crowd!  I’ll post the race time and info on Wednesday when it is available.  

 Let George know how many guests you are bringing so we can reserve passes for them at Will Call.  We’ll probably have a group eating lunch before the race upstairs and a second group watching the races track-side.
